Doing stuff

I have no cue why… well wait… I do.. PRISM

I’m doing a decentralised social networking platform.

kind of fun..

So I guess I’ll be able to exchange stuff with friends through a non-centralised storage soon…

I would almost open source it if my code wouldn’t look too girly. Who knows.

Hungarian goulash
I was always so excited to eat goulash when growing up. One of my favourite foods. The best if it’s made outside in a pot o_o
It’s a friggin ritual!

App design & development = yay!
Finished a new app a week ago - waiting for the bureaucracy, some marketing preparations and then it’s ready to go.
-
I like these fast, simple projects. It’s not outsourcing - I’m doing product development in that I have the word on how things look and I manage the products.
Better for everyone, since you actually have someone who’s competent deciding how the thing will look like.
I’d rather jump out of the window than do outsourcing.

I did this.
It’s beef cooked with paprika and chilli and some tomato sauce for about three hours. The rice I just bought in the Chinese bistro residing 20m under my window.
The meat was about 4 euro - enough for 2.0 portions, the rice about 1.50 and the paprika was 90 cent.
The economics is awkward, since if I’m looking at it it means that I could have had a Hungarian goulash in a restaurant for the same price (in a normal economy the price in a restaurant should be higher I believe?) although this isn’t goulash in any way.
But hey - house made..
Next time I’m gonna rather do a traditional goulash - I just need to find a good pot.
-
My parents used to make fire in the garden, then let the wood burn out. Then they’ve put onions, paprika, pork, chicken and some other meat into aluminium foil and put it under the hot ash for a few hours.
That’s a natural way of cooking - that’s what I like.

Why am I making fun of the XBox one in my posts?
As a designer…
I believe that…

Even if I’d drill a hole in my head and pur Super Glue in it, chop off my right hand and pop out one of my eyes I’d design something nicer in ten minutes when I was 15.

Leaving 3rd parties Behind (because of 3D printing, Raspberry PI & tablets)

The year 2013 was the year when I’m reflecting on things.

Throughout the last two or tree years I’ve been working with other people to bring products onto the market. I’ve relied on product managers, people who wanted to be my business partners and guys that said they’re the best sales.

I can say that I never seen so much intrigues, laziness and grief like I did in these years.

I’ve spent 90% of my earned cash and time on production. Money that I’ve made in design and software and I’ve spent 10% of my time on making money that financed it. Stupid me.

Now because of the advance of 3D printing, tablets, smartphones and the Raspberry PI I can cut off this ridiculous machinery and contacts and actually do WHAT I WANT & LOVE. and what’s my core competence. Designing products and releasing software CIO work.

-

The advancement of the iPad means that I no longer need to show people in production how to mount multitouch screens in my designs which I did 800 times and still the quality is bad.

The Raspberry PI means that I can just use a computer as just a component of a product.

3D printing means that I don’t need to invest 15.000 into a single bloody prototype and sit countless hours with the guys from production.

-

So I no longer want to finance old school production from the successful projects. I’ve had enough.

I want to move away from all of the sales guys and people who promisse miracles and only invest in the models that have an automatic distribution model in them. AppStore, etc. - actually enables me to concentrate on marketing and not on overseas shipments and that kind of things.

-

There are about tree or four releases of apps planned from my ventures this year and we’re also messing around with designs that we’ll send to 3D print them.

Restructuring indeed.

On Leaving

* if a woman has just a slight smile when you say good bye for the day, then it means something’s not right. When she’s all silent and tells you “everything’s all right”. There is a revolution in her head and she won’t confess to you about it.

It’s the “I’ve already decided, there’s nothing to say”.

It’s just a dot at the end of a sentence.
