When I was attending the high school in Ziar nad Hronom Slovakia learning to be prepared to be an electrical engineer they always told us that we should apply the Idiot Principle or the so called ‘Idiot Proof Design’.
What does this mean?
Well Apple got it right. It means that what you produce and design should be usable by an idiot and that even an idiot shouldn’t be able to break it.
Click viciously into the keyboard, touch the screen of your new app viciously an fast, throw a new electronic device you just made on the floor. Why? Because your users will do the same and you don’t want your products to break the first day.
And if you don’t apply the idiot principle, then you yourself are an idiot.
